any ideas on a radar arch for a broom 35/haines 35 ,its an aquafibre mould does anyone do copies of same for less dosh obviously!just cant see how they could cost 4k for a bit of grp???

Hi...made my own out of rectangular alloy tube. Nice project, looks good, cost peanuts (compared to 4K...wow, that makes me feel happy!)

The term "Broom 35" covers loads of different designs. If the boat's not too new, you might consider a Scanstrut <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.scanstrut.com/home2.htm>Power Tower</A>, which looks neat and professional. But if the boat's quite new, you'd probably be better going for a genuine arch if you want to maximise resale value.

The term "Power Tower" covers lots of different designs. If the boat's really old you might like to consider their arch rivals Broom Handles.com.

I was going to mould a range of grp arches. 4k does seem a bit much but there is a fair amount of work and time in making such things and mould making/tooling costs often go unappreciated and marine grp products seem to be seen as expensive. to me it wouldn't be worth doing copies as the numbers produced would be relatively small and marine grp products always seem to be hard work to sell.
