Really? Why should I feel a loss? This enforcement of mourning is really bizarre.

I'm not going to get in to why we should be a Republic but between 20 and 40% of the population support one. I have complained to the BBC about the lack of balance.

It's suddenly like living in North Korea or 1984. Are you really trying to tell me what to think and feel?
Steve.
Keep it nice. You don’t have too. If you don’t want too for whatever reason that’s fine. I just hoped everybody might. I can’t understand why as humans we don’t all have empathy, compassion and feeling. Perhaps that is my failing.

Thought it was a calm and dignified discussion actually. No one has been rude or offensive. We were discussing how individuals see things differently. Hardy a disgrace. Interesting subject or you would not be participating on it. Quite happy to have a life time ban for merely discussing peoples emotions.

Well the outcome of the poll will be interesting. I remember several years ago a thread Dylan winter was involved in. I was suprissrd
by the responses from this forum. He was not.
He gave me a very plausible explanation for this. I wonder if this ties in with ybw.

I see on the telly that David Beckham has respect. And McDonalds. And the organisers of the boat show, but it didn't appear to be a competition.
It's alright, I do understand that you're in the tricky position of being ex forces and so basically brainwashed into the whole monarchy cult thing.

But denying people operations because a very old lady has died is just bonkers.

An update from being at the boat show today.

Twice during the day the National Anthem was played.

The large Royal Navy stand next to the Westerly Owners Association stand had no staff. There was just a series of notice boards with images of the Queen and stating until after the Funeral, the stand would be unmanned as a mark of respect to their former Monarch.

I should have taken a photo as it is quite tastefully done, but will do tomorrow and post in the evening,

Was it a recruitment stand?

Perhaps you should find out what a few more ex-forces people think before you make such a sweeping generalisation.
Sweeping? The good captain is one person.

The forces are actually subjected to some brainwashing techniques as well. Swearing allegiance, singing, repeated phrases. For the majority the monarch is even the head of their religion.

Nothing to do with ex forces.

It's to do with dignity and respect.

A friend of mine returned to the UK on Thursday for on going cancer treatment that was due on Monday. The appointment was bought forward to yesterday....

The hysteria seems to be amongst those folk that have discovered that occasionally, events overtake their egos.

It's clear that you are a tad ill informed. Still, keep trying....??
