And to the proximity of the French restaurants and wineries and the narrowness of the Channel and the wealth of the people living along the South Coast to mention just a few other points

No no no no .. its all explained by Young's double slit experiment and Freynam's every possible simultaneous trajectory formulation!

Jimi, you don't know what you are talking about. It is really the basis of Fermet's last theorem, mixed up with secondary port tidal calculations

Clusters eh?

Hmmmm, does this allow for higher powered sailing in a "yacht cluster"? Or maybe the useful resource sharing allowed by multiple yachts? think of the benefits, shared processing power, equally distributed sail area, shared bunkage /forums/images/icons/wink.gif, shared storage, shared holding tanks....

You do realise of course that by putting, say, 10 yachts in each cluster you are reducing the number of "vessels" on the water by a factor of 10..

This is a very serious question and may have consequences on the way in which we understand the origins of our Universe. Besides that if there should prove to be an infinite number of Cherbourgs, with accompanying Frances, the possibilities for dining and wine drinking are literally endless!

The black hole explains the "stretched" yacht. Think the South side of the IoW is such a black hole .. symptoms .. no yachts visible, radiation emissions and very short people. Another is Ardrossan

I thought that a red dwarf was a collapsing star, not a vertically challenged IOW resident! Although, this may be a precursor to the development of the St. Caths black hole. A sudden lengthening of the locals would be seriously worrying though.

A "stretched keel", due to sailing in close proximity to the event horizon of a developing singularity, would be an interesting excuse for running aground.

Perhaps we need the Admiralty to devise a chart symbol for black holes and ensure that they are clearly marked on all charts.

No Jimi. It's because everybody wants to bask in the sun and the heat along the South Coast.

There is a law against loch bound scottish stinkie rabble using english waters, so you'll have to rethink things I'm afraid. Of course, you could always open that moth infested sporran, and pay for extensive rounds for all the south coast forumites while down here, by way of bribery not to blab to the authorities
