Definition: dump with excessive sense of own value and bad customer attitude. When questioned about the overnight price the staff responded that we could go somewhere else - so we did and I'll be sharpening ice skates in Hades before I go back there!

That stinks of low morale & bad management to me.
The manager(s) ought to lead the way in encouraging & promoting good customer service. Properly motivated staff will follow a good lead. At the end of the day their jobs depend on the business being successful & good service to customers may well result in small rewards, tips & thank you's - much nicer than people turning round & leaving with scowls on their faces.
