I'm also amazed by the lack of growth on the hull. You say: "the boat was last lifted a little under two years ago". Can that be true or do you have divers scrub between times?

The boat is used regularly throughout the year … but no divers and no scrubbing of any areas below the water line.
Here is a photo of the hull as the boat is drying in the sun before pressure washing, etc.
I tend to get some growth at the waterline where the sun penetrates the water, but nothing much below this.

The only explanation is that DAW does his boating in the rich end of the South of France...where everything is just Nice

Looks good. I have had great results from Velox Plus in Antibes area. Needs to be primed properly.
Your H+B platform lift mechanisms look great. Best in the business imho. I like how Fairline set them in those recesses, to create webs to strengthen the transom - similar idea was employed on Squadron 78. I'm glad to have H+B on my new boat too.

Hi Bouba,
I have an Aquador 32 and I put Propspeed on last year, it's been brilliant. I had a mate help me and we followed the instructions and the timings carefully - not as bad as it sounds. For the one prop, shaft, twin rudders and undersides of the trim tabs it took a couple of hours - I had already cleaned up and prepped the surfaces. It is now its second season and it is looking good. I figured that superyachts wouldn't use it if it wasn't effective. All the ones that come into Pendennis Shipyard down the road from me have it applied.
I still get some barnacles on the prop and rudders but they wipe off with the palm of your hand - but no weed at all. I am sure that if I used her more frequently that this would happen less. The trim tabs were a waste of time, I need to clean the Propspeed off and antifoul them.
The other big bonus is that you isolate or insulate the prop, rudders and shaft from the salt water. My anodes have barely eroded at all as there is so little metalwork exposed that the electrolysis is minimal.
Overall, delighted.

Thanks for that....what I might do is the next time I’m in the UK buy it there for next season as it’s a little bit cheaper.

Ok….the boat is now anti-fouled…the rudder, flaps and thrusters have been Veluxed with spray cans…the propeller has been left bare for this season…tomorrow I will put on all the zincs and Friday we launch…and if the weather holds we will spend the next five days on her

Looking good! What antifoul do you use? Last two years I have used Hemple Hard Racing which I have found to be good, but our chandler recommended the Seajet equivalent which also happens to be £20 a can cheaper - times three cans for my boat. I had some Hemple left over from last year so well underneath the hull - out of sight - I have a patch of that. It will be interesting to see how they compare.
Interested in the use of spray on Velux too.

.....seriously I don’t know....the yard do the anti foul...if I see the tin I will make a note...but I suspect that they would just buy it in drums and then decant....so the tin might be misleading. They use Velux (or similar) in spray cans for the stern gear

Bouba, interesting to hear that they use Velux in spray cans, as after one year of trying applying Velux with a roller, I decided that it doesn't work and ended up shifting the thing into spray cans.Blue........
do they have it ready made in cans in chandlers or it's a diy thing like the one my guys do?

Hi Vas, in my post #36 I found two kinds of spray in my local chandler....but you have to be very careful....the information about whether it’s for bronze propellers or only aluminum and stainless is very difficult to find

yep, I saw that, but they are not Velux... I've tried TK prop antifoul spray 7yrs ago didn't work at all, so not keen on trying something that I don't know it sort of works at least for one season!

Yes....about Velux....the yard calls it Velux....and I have seen them spraying...but I never got a close up look at the aerosol can to see exactly which brand it is
