Hi
Is there any reason why most peeps with outdrives antifoul the props, whilst all peeps with shaft drives fettle and polish their props?? I would have thought that it would be the reverse given that it is easier to access the stern drive?? Am I missing something??
NO sarky comments please!!!!

I have never seen outdrive props antifouled. Are you sure you are not mistaking the black paint used on the outdrive props as antifouling?

Shafts and their props are usually of diferent material, and applying lanolin helps keep them looking OK.

I antifouled my props one year, launched the boat in March, and by September time, great chunks of them had disappeared. I was latterly told NEVER to antifoul props. I guess he was right.

I've subsequently found Crown Solo Velvet Black paint to be excellent, and lasts pretty much all season, AND ITS CHEAP !!!!

Mind you, the paint doesn't offer protection at all, it just makes them look pretty!!
