Re: wet liberal speaks

Inevitably feel prompted to suggest that it could/should be an allcomers event, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, checkered past as a stinkie etc etc.

Not sure how many free berths we'll have at this stage. Nicho likely to show brand solidarity and come along as crew though.

Re: wet liberal speaks

I noticed that, but daren't comment. I suppose at least he'll know he mustn't swing on the handholds too much and so on. I suggest you keep a very close eye on those handy little all-in-one winch-handle/bog-pump/toolkit/anchor devices with the nice blue lanyard and Bavaria logo cos I think there is only one on his boat as standard whereas your has two, yes?

Otherwise agreed, open to all.

I need SWMBO to come along with her marigolds to conduct the post sail security arrangements - aka post passage log maybe?

Re: Discraceful suggestion

As a charterer of Bavs in the past you will be aware that yummy food emerges automatically from the (linear) galley every 3 hours or so. I think it's an option or something. Never seems to work when I'm on my own though. Note to self... check inventory.

Distinct possibilty I could convince a mate with a Swan 44 (S&S, not Frers) he wants to come. Anybody fancy Swanning across? I've only sailed it a couple of hundred miles when it had very sad sails, and once the wind was a tad free it went lke a train. In fact, if you see a long straight groove in the water between the Owers and the Warner, that's ours. It's now got new sails.

Re: Discraceful suggestion

er, for some reason i cannot remeber anything about the galley at all. I do remeber it handling perfectly tho. Well, when i say "perfectly, i mean that i flung up all the sails so it broached in 25 knots of wind, as all sailyboats seem to do, and then I tried to hang on, but it did it again, so I wound the front one in a bit, but not much, and then it went along at about 8 or 9 knots.

I can't manage on the 4th, I'm afraid.

Both NigelB and TomE have very kindly offered to allow me to use the return leg as one of the required skippered passages for my Yachmasters, for which I'm most grateful.

Timing wise, my preference wold be to come down on the Thursday evening (9th), then sail on Friday. I'm not pushed for time on the return leg, so Monday or even Tuesday is ok with me.

well, i am still considering. With it being sparkman and stevens and not teak-sexy frers, it might be a problem. At least the people on the swan stand were nice to us, whereas the oyster lot were stuffy so they can FRO and i wil definitely buy a large yot and NOT theirs. hah! but not for a while i am told.
