Propeller damage

Hello all,
Need bit of advice here.
My outboard hit a piece of drift wood at speed and 2 of the 3 aluminium propeller blades now have bent, out of shape edges. Any suggestions as to how I can shape them back ? My boat is stored on the hard.

I dare say it could be repaired but probably best to buy a new prop .

Depending on the degree of damage, ali props can easily be repaired. It depends where you are based, you have a link to Steel Developments who are good, but you can also contact Hamble Propellers - http://www.hamblepropellers.com/

Expect to pay around £80 or so but damage will dictate final price. Don't not try and fix yourself as the prop will need rebalancing otherwise it will play havoc with your gearbox.

It really really does depend on the amount of damage and just how hands on you are.Can confirm Steel Developments ar a good outfit to get to know.
If you have some super rocket sports boat that flys around everywhere at 30 knots then you may well want to follow the advice of previous posters.
If however the "damage" amounts to a bit of minor deformation at the very edge of the tips of aluminium blades,you may well find that a hammer and a heavy block of wood to bash against will solve the problem.In areas where debris is constant problem,you are only going to involve the services of professional prop menders so many times before finances force you have ago yourself.
So there you are,the ball is back firmly in your court.

I have had some pretty badly damaged alu props repaired by Steel Developments, and they come back looking new. £50 ish per prop.

thank you all for your advice.
I was probably doing 12 knots and the damage is deformation at the edge/tips of the blades.
