Yep still got it, a few months after i got back from yours i had to replace for the MOT the rear axle, front wishbones and coils, new brakes all round and master cylinder, drop links, drives like new now ha ha.

God knows how it made the 750 mile round trip that week.

In above pics of a few weeks back i had to bloody sleep in it.

And thanks again, kida, was a good week down yours :)

Is that boat in North Kilworth Wharf Wayne?

Yes, I'm talking to her now lol. So now you are doing work for famous authors and sailors now huh, get you! Great lady, so much fun.

Yeah she said you are back next month. She said you are doing the whole job, loads of work!! Be careful if she rocks up one day with a guitar and a bottle of rum, she'll start singing and telling tales about how she hand steered a small yacht across oceans!! (All true) Glad to hear she is in good hands, I told her so too.(y)

Hi folks.

With some great sadness the project here has come to a halt and will be put back together

Reason being

It was being built as a lie aboard. All good and well yes. and all fine but over last few months i have been helping a woman more than working on her narrow boat for her to live on it. She has been ripped off three times by so called workers in the boat trade.

After looking and talking it over i mentioned the cost to rebuild it and get to a proper standard it would go to over. well over £20k. So after that she is getting rid and i am going to find her a ready to go boat and do some work on it for free, well she has given me her boat I can take it for nothing so i made that in the deal.

This is the 47 foot beast

Will be welding on a new superstructure and the one is PLY/GRP and now finished its use.

This will make a much better boat to live on the canals. And for me the same to build as the Norman I have either an ST2 or the Merc OM636, i think the 636 to fit to the NB. The :Lister is water logged as the boat sank. Not started though.

So there we have it, besides me going full time at Waynes Boat works. as i jacked in a few days ago as employed muggins.

Been a funny old year for me.

Captain Faffer :)

Hey Wayne! As John Lennon said, "Life is what happens to you when you're making other plans" It's all part of the adventure, travelling a road that twists and turns, with no clear view of what lies around the next bend. Regardless of what might ever get finished, enjoy the journey, not the destination. Glad to see you back and continued success and happiness. Stay safe and well.

I thought hers was a narrow boat lol, I haven't seen it. You're starting that soon aren't you?

It is a narrow `beam` boat but not as steel NB. I stated it a few weeks back and back next week fro three days then down three days a week for a month more so untill we see where she wants to go from there.

Hi Wayne ,you say the Norman “will be put back together “ seriously?? Surely it would not be cost effective ?? ,i would have though it would been more cost effective to chop up and rent big skip ,I can’t speak as I hate giving up on projects as well but sometimes cut your losses is the best way

Dunno what to say, was looking Fwd to the chop and lengthening process.
So put it back together as in grp the superstructure back and then what? Put bulkheads, upholstery et al, fit the engine and flog? Is it worth it? Do you have the time to do it?

Well it was a hard decision. but after though it will be better for us if we get narrow boat done.

I know what your saying guys its just my first plan, who knows what happens in the future. At the minute i am getting in line with all the work i have on as i am mad busy until October.

I think it makes sense. The narrow boat has fallen into your lap, it’s bigger than your project boat and doesn’t need cutting in half.
