Project Anyone?

Just what do you get for your £4750? An engine "believed to work", a hull "needs complete replanking, deck removed"..etc

All you can do is buy it, hide it from your friends and boast "I've got a Chris Craft". I cannot see that there is any way a wooden runabout, however wonderful when built, can possibly be worth that amount of money when it needs replanking and decking and a new engine. All you are buying effectively is a frame!

Oh,

Can you imagine how good that would be if Cuchillo got hold of it! I have to say I agree with Clive on the Valuation.....Pretty crazy. But in the good times people were paying top buck for classic wrecks. ...I doubt it now. Maybe a nice retirement project. I Value it at £1500...but I am a tight Northerner. In fact if in the Uk I would be tempted...at £1500..

I knew a guy who bought old Rivas who lived on Windermere (next to the ferry). He would scour Europe, buy them cheap, renovate them and then sell them for a small profit. He never paid anywhere near what someone thought of them price wise as he alwways budgeted to rebuild everything.

Interesting find though...for a money pit!

Cheers
