Probably discussed before but - Single Prop Petrol or Twin diesel?

Yes!!!

set your boat up right and you won't need one.

I have 2 125ah domestic batteries that will run the fridge, lights, stereo, charge phones and iPods for 4 days
a charging booster fitted to the system means I can charge them back up with a short cruise

When you say 'domestic' battery is that the same
as a 'leisure' battery. You don't want your fridge etc
Taking power out of the battery that turns over the engine.

Has anybody here had any experience of
Using Walton marina and Shepperton marina?

Not sure which one to go with....do either do petrol?

Thanks 'prof pat......'

whichever way you look at it fuel on the river is bloody expensive...the type of boats you are looking at should be easy enough to keep topped up with a 20 litre Jerry can at supermarket prices. Boating is expensive enough already ;)

Thanks 'PPP' how many hours, roughly, can you travel with 20 ltrs of petrol at
Say 5/6 knots cruising speed?

1600cc crossflow

I reckon you'll be cruising all day long on 20 litres. I wouldnt worry about it, only V8's on tickover speed are thirsty on the river.

Heres our V8 from the engine connected fuel flow computer....

Code:
Rpm Mph	Knots L / Hour	Miles / L
Idle	0	0.0 2.6 0.0
600	3.6	3.1 3.2 1.1
750	4.5	3.9 4.1 1.1

And with our petrol from Asda and the cheaper purchase price of a V8 compared to a Diesel thats not shabby.
