Probably discussed before but - Single Prop Petrol or Twin diesel?

The advert just says 'WaterMota' engine....that can be 'pre-crossflow' or 'crossflow'

same names 'sea wolf' and 'sea tiger'

That single petrol would be my preferred choice for river work much more sociable than sitting on top of two ratley old diesels .

You would be amazed by an Ocean 30. I was helming my friends, who has fitted waterlock silencers and some sound deadening foam and you would be hard pressed to tell if the engines were running at all!!! Even at river speeds. No exhaust sound, no vibrations... just a sense of something mechanical.... some where. An amazingly well mannered boat.

I would agree on "two LARGE rattly old diesels" - I used to own a Freeman 30, and you could feel it before you could see it!!!!

I do indeed own a Freeman 32MK1. A very nice one too, thanks to some careful previous owners. She is a bit over engined for the river, but that is a compromise I accept as she goes great at sea! Although 32 foot long, she is easy to single hand on the river. Even through unmanned locks.

Agree the Mercedes om636 in the ocean is imo smoother and under the floor and the 6 cyl in your 32 more relaxed at river speed I was more referring to those 2 4108/7s Sat right on top of them and both at 1400-1700 rpm it starts to sound very busy.

had a quick google search on Ocean 30's.........not so keen on the shape/style of the boat, to be honest,
compared to say a freeman 26 or Birchwood 25........also liked a RLM? 27 I stubbled upon.

There is one for sale at Penton Hook.... have a look and make an offer (its been for sale for quite a while and asking price is rather high).
