Princess 41 non return valve on fuel tank.

Good evening all,

I have a 1980 Princess 41 and have had issues getting fuel from the tank to the filter for the echospacher and generator. I found the issue to be a non return valve on the tank being faulty (placed at the top of the tank). The fitting is an elbow joint and for some reason has been welded on.

Does anyone have any ideas about possible replacements or ideas to get it out of the tank,I have thought of angle grinding it out but obviously run the risk of a fire. On the other side of the tank on the inside is a pipe that runs to the bottom of the tank from the elbow joint on the top.

Any ideas would be appreciated about what to do to either get it out or fix it
