I have a Princess 32 but to pass the Bost safety I need to show the Flavell Vanessa on board is original has anyone got anything that shows these were installed as original spec?

Might be worth posting this on the Thames Forum, far more likely that this boat would still be in use inshore and on rivers. ?
Quite a few locally on the Medway.
 
I have an original brochure which shows that a 2 burner hob, grill and oven were standard specification, linked to a draining gas locker in the cockpit, hopefully that will suffice?

I've scanned the relevant section.

Why should this matter?
There must be hundreds if not thousands of boats that need a BSS that have changed/added a cooker. All the inspection is to check that the gas system inc the cylinder is installed correctly ie pipework good condition, supported and free of leakage etc. and that the appliance is in good condition.

I am also confused by the demands of the BSS examiner. It either meets the requirements, or it doesn't..

Edit: a quick Google search indicates that it may be acceptable to not have flame failure devices on original equipment. If that is the reason the BSS examiner is asking, then fair play. As the boat owner, I would have to question whether I would be happy to have a gas appliance without flame failure, but if it has survived this long maybe some would accept the risk. Personally, I suspect your appliance is not equipped with flame failure and in your shoes I would be looking to replace it with one that is, but it's your call.

In my experience this BSS certificate is common to whoever carries out the check .
At the outset many years back hundreds of boats were failed on account of wiring being the wrong type on the mains AC side.
Owner spent money totally unnecessary, I don’t think any were compensated, I remember doing a few conversions which I knew at the time was wrong .
As long as the gas oven has a working flame failure device and a gas test point along with Correct pipe attachment, rubber hose and correct clips there should be no problem.
My view it was far overstretched at the time , look at the amount of coastal boats with no rules whatsoever .

Looks like you may be correct on the reason, from the regs

For any LPG appliance not fitted with
flame supervision device(s) seek to
determine from the owner, or from
available documentary evidence, the
date the appliance was installed.

and

For LPG appliances:
All the burners and pilot lights of LPG appliances installed on or after
3 January 2000 must be fitted with a device that automatically shuts
off the LPG supply if the burner flame fails.
