Have never been to this part of the world (and not got there yet) but booked to be lifted at Ionian in Preveza on morning of 2nd November and fly home 4th afternoon from Athens. Has anyone any advice on how best to do this? Stay overnight in Athens or the airport?

I believe the options are expensive taxi or bus? I am just wondering if covirus is affecting travel.

there is X93 bus from the athens bus station kifisos to the airport.
but you could take taxi from the bus station to syntagma and stay in hotel nearby there and then take the metro or the x95 bus from syntagma to the airport the next day

We've used Joseph he runs a shared taxi/minibus will pick you up at the boatyard and go to the airport, we've used him to collect us from the airport to Preveza, when you work out the taxi fares / transfers etc his price is competitive and he's very convenient. Email josephsoc@hotmail.com

Thanks for Joseph's contact details. Have arranged pickup to Athens. Will probably use him on way back, too.

Most days at this time of year there are flights from Preveza (Aktion airport) to Corfu, and from there to Athens international airport. But of course one would have to check how flights fitted together.

Yes, saw them. Quite expensive. Taxi will pick us up from yard gate, which is a convenience.
