Up grading boat.
Just been looking at the 36.
Those stairs to flybridge would be nice as would the island bed but did any come powered without those awful KAD300 engines. ?
Anything similar with stairs out there preferably in UK due to impostion of the Brexit Boat Tax. :)

We have a Sealine F36
That and the prestige 36 are the only two I know of with stairs instead of a ladder.
We wen t for the Sealine as seemed bigger inside with more seating and not such a large bathing platform

Yes also with D4s & D6's. We have had one with D4 300's for 4 years. A close friend has one with D6 310's (?). D6's feel more torquey and get on the plane slightly faster but you pay for it in terms of engine room space. Don't let anyone tell you can't change the anodes on the port side heat exchanger - dead simple from the lazarette.

Great value for money boat. Spacious, beamy for the length and therefore stable. Any questions - please shout.

Its only the kad44 and 300 that are fussy about valve clearances but if you don't like superchargers that rules out Volvo Penta completely.

Yes, I like it also. Especially his passerelle installation!
Is it shafts or outdrives?
That one is on shafts. I think Rodman started using ips @ 2008. The under water hull shape is very similar to the Beneteau Swift Trawler hulls, long deep V at the front that runs a long way back, with a small keel. Good at anchor - and you get a proper anchor not a micky mouse one like some manufacturers fit.

I look after a few.
Terrible engine room , ranks a good 9 out of 10 for sheer stupidity .
I didnt rate the sea keeping at all .

Id rather have a KAD300 than a D4 or 6 any day .

Volvo Paul advised me to try and find a 38 - 40 ish foot boat with a pair of 63Ps in - top call.
Unfortunately when I was looking there was absolutely nothing like that about that wasn't a renovation project. I then bought a boat with low hours KAMD 300s and touch wood they have been brilliant. Really easy to look after, cheap to service, no anodes to change!, yes the valves at 200 hours took a while, but really not difficult.

But the low down torque with the superchargers is brilliant! Makes the boat super confident getting onto the plane - never any hesitation even with a properly crusty hull. Service parts are relatively cheap and the sea water impeller and (very little) service stuff really easy to get at. I am concerned that ECUs are hard to get, but that aside a great engine.

Edit but I wouldn't have them if a lot if slow river cruising was needed. Too much time on the superchargers, they are really designed to be used at 3000 rpm +

Look at what ? A boat or a Volvo engine ?

Prestige 36, just a short walk up the pontoon. Not yet on the market.
Visually from the outside it appeared to be a step up from our Princess 35, however the interior did not match up to the outside promise and serious shortcomings in the engine access dept.
They really did shoehorn those engines in there.
Other more candid comments available on request. :)

That one has 63p and accm looks nicely executed. Highly thought of in Biscay!
The last one I serviced with 63p had never had its oil filters or impeller changed , it took me 2 days to do the job as the whole of the settee had to be removed , what idiot designed that boat .
