Press studs ,male female

Most camping shops do them in a range of qualities and materials, I use them on soft top vehicles and only use brass ones for durability.

where can you buy good quality ends and a fitting tool.

Speak to boatshed. Seriously. I went for very high end stainless steel ones purchased in bags of 50 previously as spares but it turns out the better ones have copper/brass innards. Anyway cut a long story short they were delighted to tell me mine were not as good and certainly the ones they put on glide on and dont need a crowbar to prise off. They can supply you with whatever the goodstuff is.
Alternatively I have bags of 50 rather expensive press studs 100% stainless steel that will hold your canvas down in a Cat5 hurricane. Wont cost you more than a case of Malbec and will be shiny and polished just the way you like them for an age to come

A good quality tool will cos £150 to £300. I suspect what you were asking was 'what is the best cheap tool?' You can get one in hobby craft for about £8 with 10 snaps but they wont be the stainless ones.
