Preparing for an Atlantic Adventure and Beyond......

Have you been invited up to the governors residence yet!

No but did see the convoy of cars with the President(?) in it yesterday. We were sat in a bar watching the cricket and the cars went to a beachside hotel, it was St Lucia Independence Day yesterday.

I wished a happy day to a Rasta chap sat nearby. He said ' we all depend on each other, bro'

I liked that.

Good good forecast. 20 to 25 knots most of the way. Will stay between 14and15 north to stay clear of the troubled Venezuela. Will stay of the coast of Columbia past Cartagena to avoid the nasty winds that lurk there then swing south to Shelter Bay.
Have booked with Agent already so hopefully not too long to hang about.

Adios Amigos.

Going to stop in San Blas or no stopping? Either way good luck and enjoy the trip. Will be following this time next year.

Wow, what a downwind sleigh ride! Woodshed across the Caribbean with twenty and more knots up chuff and arrived yesterday morning in Shelter Bay. Mrs Sensible arrived just after we docked, sorted boat and on first scoop. Trouble is, bag still in the air somewhere....

No stops but teasy. Close pass Aruba by night then glimpses of Columbia just before windy corner.

Only had to fix swamped engine panel alarm, cooker dropping off broken gimbal and engine exhaust hose split dumping a fair bit of of oggin in bilge.

Hopefully inspection today and transit through canal in six or seven days.

Been fiesta time in Panama so not a lot of worky being done....

'Ello! You should be on 'second scoop' by now...... but isn't it breakfast time there?

That was so yesterday. Beer and wine was duly taken.

Now is 0846. Message from agent is that he will be here before 1300. Mebbe tMrs Sensible bag will too. Otherwise it's skinny dipping in Marina pool.......

Footy at 1500 local. Life is tough.

'Life's a beach, an' then you fly...'

Sounds good....

We are booked through on Tuesday so only six days, really pleased. Booking the agent early worked.

Will lock through Gatun in the afternoon then anchor overnight. Passage next day 42 miles via San Pedro and Miraflores locks to Balboa Yacht Club bar...

Took marina bus to commercial centre in Colon this morning, went over lock to get there and came back on ferry. Lots to show Mrs Sensible.....who is also delighted to be reunited with her baggage.

Just booked into Vistamar marina on the other side ta for recommend budgieboy.

Couple of nights there then off to Panama City for same. Then its flytime Madrd and back home to Lanza.

What will ne the next one?????

The lines and fenders have arrived for our transit starting tomorrow, always a Good Thing.

Out to the anchorage at 1300 local to pick up the Advisor around 1400.

Yay! Kinda getting Shelter Bayed out now.....

Yay! Kinda getting Shelter Bayed out now.....

Could be worse!

Like SW Wales this past couple of days, fettling friend's newish boat.... driving rain, blowing dogs off chains, boat gas no workee, teensy kettle, food-pub shut as owner in Caribbean!

Count yer blessings!

The transit ran nice and smoothly. Mrs Sensible suitably impressed. Blessings counted! Will do more soon on the trip and try and figure out pictures from trip.

Now in Vista Mar. Bit, um, quiet..... :)
