To save people goint through whole thread.
Scuttlebutt Cherbourg Cruise is planned for September 14th. The weekend will consist of early groups booking restaurants for the Friday night in Cherbourg. I will arrange the free wine tasting for circa 11.00 at Normandy wines. If like last year it was with nibbles and an extra discount to attendees and wine delivered to your boat. Afternoon pontoon gathering with stick on name tags so everyone can mix and introduce themselves - the aim is to make Newbee/ scuttlebutt virgins welcome. Evening Meal at the Yacht Club.
If Saturday afternoon weather not too good Magli (Cherbourg Marina) thinks she can arrange for local dinghy YC hall for a gathering.
Its every individual skippers decision whether to finally go (no deposit so no loss!) and that his boat/crew/equipment is suitable for the possible weather forcast conditions. I do send out a spreadsheet to private e mails only with list of all skippers and contact details to give best chance if you prefer to link up with those sailing at similar time from same port. Only if complete wash out with F8 etc we will consider trying for again for the next neap weekend 28/29 Sept but probably no Sat evening YC dinner at that late stage will be possible.
I am a bit aprehensive as last 5yrs have been splendid sunny Saturdays so please all keep praying to the weather gods!!
