My vote is for the early weekend, always last minute weather I get the time due to work so not a strong preference, I would do St Vaast again before hand if weather permits

One option is to go for the first weekend. If storms are forecast then it leaves the second weekend open as a fallback.

Good idea but YC unlikely to have space for any last minute bookings. Fergus books it months ahead and dependant on size of reservation YC take additional local bookings. We were a bit concerned last year as while there are usually a few last minute cancelations if there were not we would break our max number reservation. I warned my crew that if there were not any cancellations I would ask them to eat elsewhere!!

I can also foresee a problem with less that ideal weather and say 50% requesting to delay it while others say weather is good enough!

I think one way you idea could work as a backup plan is if 1st early weekend is a washout then we arrange for the second with morning wine tasting, afternoon pontoon gathering and if no room at the inn (YC) then we go to say 6 different restaurants with small groups of 8.

Sounds like a plan.

OK No strong preference for either weekend as whichever one a few can't make. So in conjunction with Talulah's suggestion that early weekend gives us a second opportunity on the last weekend albeit with different dining arrangements if first is a washout with F9 winds. We will go for the 1st weekend 14th /15th september 2013. I will book my boat and later Fergus can book YC.

According to my diary the 1st weekend is 7/8th Sept not the 14/15th Sept. Could someone please clarify which weekend applies.
Sorry have just read all the threads and there are conflicting dates!

Many thanks
