Mmmm Intrestin!

Whilst I agree with Keith, I also wonder.

Many people at a time of distress say many things like "I'll kill him" "he's a crook" etc

What I wonder is -If someone took advice from a poster on this forum and then things went tits up would you be able to sue YBW for compensation?

Just a thought

Am I the only one who feels that this editing of web threads, although only a reflection of the woeful state of the legislation we have accepted around us, is effing about with the collective consciousness in a manner which the third Reich could only have dreamed of?

Yep. When a certain property owner went bosoms elevated for several hundred million the banks could not afford to let him go down and bailed him out: if you or I get pushed for a few grand they come and hock the children. cos they know they can get the money.

Ah, but remember the glee on Have I Got News for You when Archer was found guilty and they could at last say what they thought without fear of being sued.?

Wouldn't it be nice if we could do the same when others get their come-uppence. The name George Gallaway springs to mind. I can't think why. Just a similarity of personalities, I suppose. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I can't recall the details but there's a thread somewhere about how it only ever takes about 15 replies in a forum argument before someone mentions the Nazis. There! I've just done it...

I hate to break point out the obvious - but how else do companies trade their way out of problems without taking more deposits and pushing more sales?? That's business

Does this mean that if the alleged crook is indeed found to be a crook you will reinstate the thread?

You must admit that the disappearing act, the fact that deposits have been taken these last months when they must have known they were going down, that suppliers and employees haven't been paid, etc... cast a bad light.

If it walks like a duck, sounds like a duck...

... and since when did someone have to be convicted of a criminal act in order to be, in the opinion of another, a crook?

Oh, and a statement is only libelous once a court has convicted someone of libel in relation to it... Anyone may have an opinion that it's libelous, of course...

....and on the basis of innocent until proven guilty, the party accused of making libelous statements is not guilty until the party accused of being a crook proves he is not...

It's no where near as simple as that, I'm afraid... 'Fair comment' is very relevant here...
