Hi all, had aral bad nights sleep, reason is i just launched my last long project and like i do i cnat help but look at boats.

And well this shows up, what a cracker it will be for me. A lot of positive points with it. This is not coming home as i need to give T a break and give her house back, it comes with a mooring.

Just need to make sure i know what i am looking at so what boat do you guys think it is ??

Selling as a Fisher 37

I'd be tempted to stick this post in Scuttlebutt, you're more likely to get a positive identification among the sailing community.

With "a bit" of work she could be lovely though :-)

It certainly looks like a Fisher, must be very early with the plywood cabin though.
Wow what a rebuild though, I don’t think even Vas could take on a job like that.

I have faith in myself ;)

Cant be that hard to fettle it to good again. No worse than my last boat. Infact its better nick lol..

“True love” quite an ironic name really seeing as not much love has been shown to it.
I can’t understand why somebody would want to spend good time and money doing up a boat in this stage of decay. The money you’ll spend would be better spent elsewhere on a boat fit for using, then get out and enjoy it.
But, having said that, good luck to you !!

I am one of those poor buggers that dont have £20k to spend. Above that though i like to work and its a hobby, you would never believe the pride you get from building your own boat up.

Much like this, i did last

Fair play to you! How much would you have spent doing that up though? And do you get much chance to enjoy the boat afterward ?

I could of gone and bought one ready to go for the same money i put into it. BUT the boat i buy would not be anywhere near as good a condition as mine is now, less spec etc etc etc.

I get to use it every weekend if i wish. launched it last week and spent all week on it and back up for the next month and so on.

It sounds like you dont understand this. If i had the money to splash out all that money i mite do so but would still get one that needs work doing. I am a person who takes pride in what they do and enjoy it, designing and building.

It's not a Fisher it has the wrong shape keel for a starter, Fishers have a deeper longer keel.
It looks a bit of a lash up.
Save your money maybe get a fire damaged boat insurance write off.

looks like a nice project mate :D

no idea what it is, don't think it makes much of a difference, you'll make the boat you like out of it anyway

confused what's grp and what's ply though. Looks like only the pilothouse (if you call it such) is ply and the salon/cabin roof in front is grp, right?
Is the deck grp as well?
if so, it should be a reasonably easy rebuilt tbh

cheers

V.

You guys may have missed Wayne's last thread, but he did an incredible job and it's been a real pleasure reading the updates.

Mmmm well spotted, i have been wondering the same, i was going to ask the seller but as i am going along anyway to look then no point. intrigued though to see whats what.

It does look like the wheelhouse needs rebuilding completely, Ooooo i would like a nice Iroko varnished one on that :)

Ill update V when i get the pics this weekend. I will be on Khashoggi so have to try and do it on the phone if i can work that out.

Captain Faffer :)

You cannot see the keel because it is sat in mud, not saying it is a fisher, but most boats on those jetty's settle well into the mud, they dig a hole for themselves.

I look at the happy smile on your face and think enjoy 'Khashoggi' for a while at least
There are SO many 'projects' out ther better than the 'Fisher' pictured. Which your energy and skills would be better used on
She needs a gallon of petroleum and a box of Swan Vestas
My Scicilian contacts can provide same if you wish!
;)
