....are reporting on an old WW2 mine washed up near Burnham on Sea.
Probably blown it up by now but in the interim period the coast guard asked people "not to approach by boat for a better look"
Why ever not?

My dad was a Bevan Boy and worked in an old WW2 mine. (He has washed up in Portishead)

The bomb disosal boys did a great job tonight. Went out on the RNLI ribs, strapped an 8kg explosive belt around the mine, lit the blue touchpaper and retired to a safe distance. Tomorrow they hope to do the same but finish it off with a big bang!
