Plug and Socket for dinghy inflator

As a decent dinghy inflator draws up to 25 Amps does anyone know of a suitable plug and socket for this? Bulgin do their Commander range but it's physically too big.

I think the thing to look for is "solar connectors". Used by people fitting panels on their roofs, so they can carry quite high currents. Not seen one in person so not sure what they're like mechanically, but worth a look at least.

I reckon that these 2 Pin Deck plug / socket would do a job. Not 25 amp which to me sounds a bit high for a dingy pump, but rated at 15 amp.

The Rule pumps are 25 amp max. I bought a 2 pin plug (about a fiver from CQ chandlery) the same as the tiller pilot so I could plug it in to the outlet in the cockpit, but the wiring was too small. So I gave up.

We have one fom EC Smith rated at 30 amps.

Inflator plug/socket

I use a Dri-Plug which is actually rated at 10 Amps (continuous) for my 25 Amp (max) dinghy inflator. It has been used several times in the season since it was fitted and seems to cope perfectly well. Really, the pump is so quick that it only runs for a couple of minutes in total and then only in fairly short bursts between repositioning the dinghy, or plugging into a different valve and pumping a bit more (I inflate it in the cockpit). I seem to remember that the ammeter actually indicated about 15 Amps (continuous) when inflating.

I use the same socket for my Autohelm. You require quite generously sized cable to the socket to carry the heavy current.

Don't forget to properly size the wire to whatever plug you obtain. And fuse it.

Try Marinco connectpro? I think these are used for electric outboard motors.

Thanks, the Marinco with its 6 gauge wire adapter is perfect. I've just ordered one.
