This evening I was moored up in my rather small boat just downstream of Abingdon.
I was just settling down and about to drop off to sleep and I heard a boat pull alongside. I opened my cabin door and somebody was unbuttoning my canopy.
I told them in fairly expletive language where they could go and they said that they thought I was stuck and had come to "help me out".
With my club hammer in my hand, which I use to bang in my mooring pins and "also other uses" I continued the tirade of expletives and they decided it may be best to depart.
Anyway, the description of their boat is possibly of aluminium construction, dark green or grey and about fourteen foot and open with no cabin.
The men, who appeared to be in their twenties or thereabouts on board spoke with an English accent and not a local Oxfordshire accent.
If anybody has any police connections please pass on this information. I am sure that other boats in the area have been interfered with and possibly goods have been plundered.
