Having been in there in a 2.1m draft boat on springs when the fishing boats wanted to leave 30 mins early, the gates opened with only 2m above the cill. We went hard aground.

At least you were leaving so only had a short wait,. Had you been trying to sneak in at the last moment.....whoops!!!!!

And we weren't moving so just settled in to the gunk, but it shows there's not much inder you in there.

Beware of the final approach to St Vaast, I have found spots with less water than in the entrance. With my 2.1 m draught I avoid entering or leaving within 15 mins of the gate opening/closing
