I was looking this small trailer sailer with a very shallow draft. Anyone know anything about them? I have heard they don't sail that well - are they ok on inshore waters, or fit for estuaries only?

Very good boat for inshore sailing, cabin with 2 berths and a large cocpit, with the 3 keels they are easy to get on and off the trailer. Generally sell for around £1500 - 2000

The Pedro is all but the same as a Seahawk. I find it dose sail reasonable well although I will say I don’t have that much experience of many other boats. This link should tell you all there is to know about Seahawk’s. seahawk

The Pedro is essentially a Seahawk but without the centreboard. While the Seahawk with the drop keel sails fairly well for its size and type, the Pedro with no c/b has bery poor windward performance.

I tried one out a few years go when i was looking for something of that type, i found it rolled like a cork and had a very uncomfortable motion in even a slight swell.

Tried looking at the leasure 17? my great-grandfather used to sail his all over the east coast, even in mid winter, and never, as far as i know, had anykind of a problem.

I nearly bought one at the LBS in the 70's put £50 down on one - retail price about £700 at the time, got home, came to, decided that there was no way I could afford it and then tried to get my £50 back - no way, B'stards.

I once had the pleasure or otherwise of owning one. cheap and chearfull and sails like a bucket of worms. too heavy on the helm amongst other problems. i found that replacing the rudder and the foresail with. genoa and rudder taken from a gp 14 dinghy improved the performance enormously but still sailed side ways rather than pointing into the wind. if you are looking, look further. if you have one then you have my sympathy ! for the same price you could buy a well designed pandora simmilar to my own with more space in both cockpit and cabin, and actualy sails upwind.
