So we have had the first installment of this three parter. Anyone have a view on what the other contenders will/should be. I think the Westerly Fulmar should be near the top, but then I might be biased.

Just in case you chaps do not get to see the PBO magazine(Feb 10), The Nich 32, CO32 and Beneteau First 32 are featured in part 1 of this article.

Will the Bavaria 32 count, as it is nearly 34 feet long?
However, no matter, it has always struck me as an excellent example of its type. I must admit I have never sailed one. I have sailed a 34ish footer though and that was ok in heavy winds, when suitably reefed down. Accommodation looks second to none

Wauquiez Centurion 32 ?

At 32' 3'' , She 33 ?

Got to be a Sadler in there somewhere but YBW have just reviewed the S32..

OK, so they are only 31' or 31'6" depending on the model, but there were over 1000 sold of the Westerly Longbow/ Pentland/ Berwick/ Renown design by Laurent Giles. They may not sail as well as some & may not have as much accom as the latest designs, but as an all-round family cruising boat they can't be beaten.

Sailed many miles in a Sadler32 and always liked the way she handled. I agree with the basis of the article that 32' is a good size for 4 people but can be easily handled by 1 or 2.

Agree! Centurion 32-much underated yacht by the British because not British built, but they were designed by Kim Holman and just under 400 were built. You find them all over Europe and there are a fair few in the USA too. How about Contessa 33 too?
