Sorry for posting this twice, but I thought it might be more appropriate in this forum...

Does anyone know anything about Palmers of Portavogie, as in their history and reputation? Can't seem to find anything much by Googling. Any info appreciated.

Cheers,

Steve.

Palmers

Try to get a copy of ''Working the Irish Coast'' by Mike Smylie (Kipperman).
He gives details on Palmers of Portavogie in one chapter. I have given my copy on loan to a friend but can give you info when it is returned if you still need it.

Cheers

Thanks, Herringchoker. At least someone's heard of them then. I was starting to despair. I just checked it out and the book is available on Amazon, so cheers for that.

Palmers Boat

Attached is an example of a Palmers boat from the For Sale ads in this months Marine Times newspaper. I am not connected to the seller.
You may be able to improve the image as computering is not my forte.

Thanks again. They seem to have made quite a variety of boats. I've also seen a pilot boat and a couple of Miller Fifer-style motorsailers made by them, but hardly anyone seems to have heard of them. I was considering buying one but I've now gone for something less obscure instead.

Cheers,

Steve.
