Painting colours on chain - what type of paint to use?

Hmmm. Works for me. Mine have been on for a year now and the cotton ribbon has become more of a mud colour but I can still see them and they pass over the gypsy.

I use cable ties about 6 inches long and do not cut the ends off or they will be less easy to see and will have sharp edges. I use two colours - yellow and black. Yellow is 10m and multiples of 10 and black is any number that has a 5 in it.
I have meter marks at 10, 20, 25 (two yellow one black) 30 40 and 50 (one black) and 60m is one black one yellow up to 95m which is 2 black (100m).
The advantage is they are easy to see and very rarely fall off if you check them as you weigh anchor.
