Is it allright to paint the hull of a carvel planked yacht with a dark colour? I am looking at white decks and Ceramco (dark) blue for the hull with black anti-foul.

There's always yellow or orange for the hull, of course. They are probably the safest colours, easily spotted at a distance.

One could always paint the word HELP in a contasting anti-fouling colour on the bottom anti-fouling to attract the helicopter crew!

When I was a cadet we had all manner of wooden boats, carvel and clinker, and all with dark blue hulls, I don't recall any problems even on hot sunny days.
The only seepage was after lay-up out of the water, until the timbers 'took up' again.
