Can anybody please advise what the paint code should be for Ford Sabre engines. I am referring to Ford Sabre circa 1980s.
Many thanks in advance.
Regards Ian

On the subject of paint for the more mature engine, a interweb search will produce a company who will supply .5 L tins of brushing enamel. A good alternative to the weeny weedy aerosols which appear to cost more per puff than Chanel No9. ...and brushing paint usually ends up where you actually want it to go..... https://www.parts4engines.com/workshop-products/ My Perkins Sabre were a light metallic Blue, apparently earlier versions were of a darker hue. It was not the same colour as the Hammerite light blue.

Thanks. I am looking for the code for the Ford Based Engines so it is more of a green colour than a blue if anyone can help.
Cheers Ian

I used RAL 5018 which is a perfect match for my old Ford Sabre 212's. I did as Oldgit has suggested and had some made up that I brushed on. If you are in the Hamble area I can direct you to the local paint shop that I used.

Grumpy Dave in Lowford!

Ian - there's a Rainbow Paints in Newport.

The metallic blue on the later Perkins Sabre phaser motors was supplied by Chromex in Portsmouth.
