The reasons men or at least proper men object to getting a " man in" to do a job is because we know that we can most of the time do a better job and in the event of getting a " man in" to do the job we will be wading through the bodges and cack handed work for the rest of our lives. There are exceptions but they are few and far between usually booked up for months ahead if not years and are frighteningly expensive.

I reckon ol’ W threatens to buy a boat periodically when domestic chores spill over onto 2 pages …
Fix this
Mend that
Clear all that
Unblock that
Woof! 😄

He doesn’t really want more bloody ( boat) work at all…
Otherwise he would have bought one

A nice RV though with sea views and windscreen wipers , captains chairs and a heater and a coffee machine and being siesta friendly /dog walking friendly /wife friendly …
🤔🤔
Make it a good one

you are probably right... I often think about getting something like a classic car...or another RV...but I honestly can’t keep up maintaining and especially cleaning all the toys I have...in fact, just thinking about cleaning the pool depresses me

Fix the leak first.

Ours looks like turning into a marathon. The specialist leak detection company can't come for a preliminary assessment for at least 2 weeks. We had the pool build company director ie franchise owner come to see if he had any ideas and to try to confirm the actual design layout of the various pipes, he was next to useless but is going to send us the contact details of the leak detection company that they recommend but he had no idea how the do it other than they block all outlets and inject gas into one but how they then detect the leak he had no idea.
Unfortunately this is a case of whilst not being beyond my abilities I don't have the equipment to do it so it's going to be "specialists" but they will tell me exactly how they propose to go about detecting the leak before I allow them to proceed which should be fun as French artisans don't like being supervised or discussing the details of their work.

Don’t talk to me about French ‘artisan’...the bain of my life
In a previous leak, we had the detection crew come with their gadgets...they spent a day and came up with nothing...I dived into the pool with a syringe with blue food dye and found the leak straight away...the drain cap had broken..€2 to fix.
This time, the leak detection failed (although he only used a pressure gauge) but his experiment of putting bungs in the skimmer box is pretty convincing to me. Hopefully the leak will be in the box itself and in the first box he digs up...fingers crossed
