The Glénan one is the son (+ friend) of a Hisse et oh forumite;
father here:
Attaques d'Orques - 4
and son here:

This is the other one, no more details so a bit of question mark as to what happened

The Glenan are my local cruising ground.
If there had been an orca encounter, you would expect this to be the talk of the town around here.
No-one's heard a thing.
I have just called the local CG Signal Station (Semaphore Beg Meil) and the MRCC responsable for the area (CROSS Etel) - likewise: they haven't heard a thing.

There are however, quite a few pods of dolphins to be found between Les Glenan and Groix.
Came across a pod only a few days ago.
Just saying...

I can’t read 90 pages.

I know this has been a problem for some time; cruisers have had to turn back and delivery crew too.

I read it is most unusual.

So is any organisation doing a serious study or taking action?

Or is the answer in the 90 pages somewhere?

I would be interested in taking part in the study if younger and if onboard a steel BIG boat

Attacks seem almost constant now. A couple of attacks in this video. He says there are so many boats with rudder damage there's a big wait locally for repairs. Also mentioned hearing sonic booms. I wonder it that's related. Maybe fishermen taking measures?

“For anyone heading out of or into the Med via the Straits of Gibraltar, a splinter group of the Orcas that have been damaging rudders in the Bay of Cadiz have come into the Med, just east of the Steaits.

Three attacks in three days, two boats steering disabled, one able to continue it's journey. One attack off La Linea, one off Estepona and one near Marbella. Its relatively easy, though time consuming, to make passage around the 20m contour line, or shallower, on this coast, as recommended in the Bay of Cadiz

Interesting video showing the orcas are only interested in the rudders at the stern, not at all in the similar shaped keel. I'm still liking my theory that its related to fish discarding and stopping doing that.

I doubt you'll find any written admittance of using firecrackers from a traceable source. Word of mouth and chats over a beer in boatyard/ fishdock is the closest you'll get. Fishermen still going out, Charter boats not. Maybe because the charter skippers can't use firecrackers in front of paying public passengers?
Exactly so.

I was talking today to a neighbour in our marina (Ocean Quay in Southampton), who was on a yacht that got attacked by orcas while sailing up from the Med a week or two ago. (Sorry - I don't recall the exact location but could find out). He said they got rid of the attackers by using a loud noise under the water. They had a long metal tube, like a scaffold pole, suspended with the end in the water. Then they attacked the top end with an angle grinder, sending very loud distressing sound waves down the tube into the water. They had sustained some damage to the rudder but the attackers left quite quickly after they started the noise.
Some people have had success by operating a fog horn pressed against the hull.

I'm still sceptical, however, post #1791 would appear to back up your suggestion.

Its not surprising that they were distracted away from the boat while being thrown a few fish but it is VERY interesting that they left afterwards. I'm guessing it takes a lot of fish to satisfy their apatite, probably would need more than was thrown but would be ideal to know just how many fish we're talking about. I'm really quite convinced this is a logical possibility. For a decade orcs knew if they followed boats they would discard fish and then it just stopped. About the same time the attacks started

I mentioned my own pet theory way back up thread about how tuna being landed to a boat hand lining could easily look like a rudder to these dumb fat water rats. :)
