Now that you've advertised your presence expect a few neighbourly calls from the local scroungers who will help themselves to the funbox while giving you directions on assembly :encouragement:

So today head went on but the oil seal where the oil comes up to rocker so had to order also two oil seals where oil pipes join oil cooler on way ,so we have started and will be back to boat on Thursday ,at least Ian learning a lot about the engine

Ya but hey no man. Learn on someone else's engine, but not mine, and not your own. What's BigWoW got?

So it went slow yesterday oil cooler fitted ,injectors in and piped up rocker shaft fitted and tappets set ,lost a bot some where so got go back have to fit turbo intercooler and exhaust ,then trials ,but will be another week as hol nxt week

well at last put all the bits on the engine so heads been done new sea water pump intercooler refurbed injectors refurb turbo rebuilt ,WELL DONE MIDLAND TURBOS,started the engine after bleeding etc runs sweet ,just need to sea trial her in a couple of weeks ,so thanks for all the advice and support ,and a big thanks to Baz from Tean Marine Services, who persevered to find the problem. baz is Volvo Paul of the north, praise indeed

so when we sea trial after top end rebuild should we be running at full pelt ,keeping an eye on temp pressure etc also can you tell when the turbo kicks in

Work your way up the rev range in 200rpm steps. Watch the gauges like a hawk. If everything is OK I would stay at a fast cruise for half an hour. I would also go from WOT to tickover to check the oil pressure.

Agg Boet, nobody is out, the boys in the lifeboat station are bored. Just give it some welly, if anything happens you wont be in a queue.
