Or similar gadget for baking/roasting on top of my two burner. Anyone had experience of how useful they can be ? Not expecting full oven performance but would be nice to burn the odd pie or roast some spuds - would it deliver ?

I bought one of these at the boat show to use with my origo stove- it works surprisingly well. I haven't tried making a pie (it would look a bit odd being a donut shape) but I used it for baking potatoes and things like garlic bread and apart from the slighty awkward shape I've been very pleased. Well worth the £30. It even came with a storage bag.

Have you considered a Cobb Barbecue? Bit more expensive but a truly amazing bit of kit and gives you a lot more options onboard- I love mine and you can cook just about anything with it on a few charcoal briquettes. OK- I wouldn't recommend using below decks ;-) , but well worth a look.

Was discussed here http://www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67045 some time ago.

Have a look at http://cobb-bbq.co.uk/

One of the things i did want to know about was the shape - so the cavity IS donut shaped then. I've got an Origo as well so useful to know no probs with that. I recall glowing reports on the Cobb - but need it for downbelow use, I'm afraid.
