Old shaft coupling?

that does look bad! Not familiar with that particular shaft coupling, what does the rest of the coupling look like?

I don't know the name of the coupling.
The coupling is in the form a cup, a very rusty cup. The rubber was bonded into the cup.
The stud on one side is welded on to the cup. On the inside of the cup there's a rubber bush with, which should be bonded to the cup, and a stud bonded into the centre of the bush. There's no metal to metal connection between the two studs.

I presume these are engine mounts? Some measurements are needed but ASAP supplies list a vast range of them

No, surprisingly, they aren't engine mounts. They are a coupling between the gearbox and the propshaft.
There are 4 of the couplings between the flange on the shaft and the gear box flange.
They take the place of the 4 bolts you'd normally expect.
It's like a simple form of R&D coupling
Perplexing, I've yet to find anyone who has seem this arrangement before.
It could be that it's an improvised coupling, made from engine mounts.
It's off an old boat which was towed into the pontoon over the weekend having lost all drive. The owners are new to the boat and sailing. They are struggling to get it repaired, I'm just trying to help.

I seem to remember Dylan Winter (Keep Turning Left) having grief with that style of coupling on the old Volvo in his Mirror Offshore and not being able to find a direct replacement. replacement Had a look on his site to see if there was anything on his trials and tribulations with the beast but he seems to have removed it all.

I thought about glueing the bushes back into the cups, as a temporary measure, but the local enginer has sawed through one of the studs to get it out. So that rules that one out
We're along way from any major city, 2hr to Glasgow, 2hr to Inverness. Very limited in what can be sourced locally.

So there are 4 of these connected to a drive plate on the gearbox and a matching plate on the prop shaft with 4 of these between the 2 plates
It may be possible to replace these with similar but different design
Details dimensions of the existing and the gap between the drive plates
It also may be possible to bolt a current flexible coupling between the 2 drive plates. Mine is simulate to this arrangement

It would be useful if you would post a picture of the other parts of the coupling, which I assume are still connected to the propshaft and gearbox flange.
These any good?

Exactly what you are looking for Volvo In their own fashion charged less for the complete unit than buying individual bobbins

The problem is now resolved. The local engineering company has source 4 of the original couplings, 3 days delivery.
Thanks for all the suggestions, but fitting replacement couplings is by far the easiest option.
As foot note, I find it amazing that you can get spare parts for a 50 year old engine, on 3days delivery, when I often struggle to source spares for my Yanmar
