Old Hustler Speedboat

Hi folks,

I have just been in touch with the Hustler company with regards to an old speedboat I have had for a few years now but never managed to get an engine for due to my finances!

I sent them some photo's and they said that it was not one of theirs for a few reasons, the primary being they never made boats as small, but he said I was not the first person to ask and that there was a UK company by the same name.

However, I've not been able to find the UK company so far and was wondering if anyone here had any leads or contact info.

I'd like to pass on the boat to someone who can give it the care and loving it needs and hopefully get some use out of it as it would be an incredibly fun boat to have. But I also obviously wanted to find out a bot more about it and whether it had any worth whatsoever in its current condition and with no motor.

Here it is, just in case anyone might know anything. The Hustler name is almost invisible on the side now but can still be made out close up.

It looks a lot like a Simms Super V. There is no value in it unfortunately. Quite a few in that genre crop up on FB boaty pages especially in N Wales. Even rigged with trailer and 70hp period engines they fetch under £500. Without engine I see them go unsold advertised for 100

Ahh thanks! Well that's good to know, tho I was hoping for a 'classic boat' there...

Its definately not a USA Hustler, but as you say, there was a UK brand called Hustler back in the 70's.

Although I can see a resemblence to the early Mk1 Super 'V's, its not one.

But having said that, I have no idea what it actually is.

Looks like an original Shakespeare 12...but many copies and local UK boat builders has similar moulds at the time. Definitely not a Super V.
