Hi scuttlebutters,

I'm trying to find a reference for an old book on sea breeze micromet that I vaguely remember seeing years ago. I think it was called something like "Benoit on Breezes", maybe translated from original French publication, very detailed examination of sea breeze development modes in different prevailing meteorological and geographical scenarios.

Does this ring a bell with anyone? Love to find out what it was and get a copy again.

Kind regards,

Mike

The full book is "Meteo locale", just seen it's being sold at silly prices.
Amazon.fr - Météo locale: Croisière et régate - Bernot,Jean-Yves - Livres
Most of the content stems from a series of articles written for a magazine (maybe Course au Large of the 90s), later they were all available for download IIRC from the FFV or ENSVN web sites, not sure if it is still the case the sites have been modified a lot.
There is a smaller book by David Houghton covering some of the themes (quadrants and sea breeze, coastal convergence/divergence, obstacles and wind blanketing, etc)

Cheers Roberto, that has helped me track the volume down. If you think his original French language publications are expensive, you should see what someone is asking for an abridged paperback publication in english on ebay!
