My engines are Volvo Penta TAMD61A. The starboard side engine oil warning light will on and with an alarm sound. The light and sound will off after engine start. And oil pressure looks normal after start. Any idea what is wrong?

Many thanks.

Nothing.?
All warning lights on display should illuminate and buzzer/alarm should activate when turning key to 1 st position.
After you start engine the all the lights should go off , the oil light and buzzer usually go off a few seconds later when the oil pressure has built up..
This should be the same on both engines.
The little buzzers have been known to fail.
You can purchase the genunine VP item or any generic 12 V or 24V buzzer from Ebay will do the job.

Not on mine. No alarm pre start. Alarm only sounds (I think) if there is oil pressure or alternator fault not both.
Anyway his engines are different to each other.
I’d vote for the bulb blown in the alternator warning light but that’s just a guess.

Thanks.
My starboard engine only light up the oil warning light and with the alarm before start. But my port engine has 3 warning lights all on but no alarm sound before start. So this confused me.

This is the wiring diagrams

The best I can see is something to do wit the timer relay no 19

That is not the correct wiring diagram, the top one is for a Mercruiser panel which uses a different colour code to Volvo, the lower diagram is the Volvo engine harness only.

I had the same issue... then my alternator died. Had a new regulator fitted and now all back to normal... all lights illuminate on key 1, no alarm

I did wonder when the numbering stopped at 9 on the top one but went up to 16 on the lower one.

Thank you Rogershaw. Very good advice. It very likely is the relay. Because I keep hearing a relay repeating a on and off sound together with the alarm sound. Have to check it.
