Oil for S/L Hyspeed Windlass

Anybody tell me what is the best oil for the oil bath on the Simpson Lawrence Hyspeed Windlass please?

We have one. The manual is onboard - and I am not, but from memory we put hypoy gear oil in it. To be quite honest the insides are pretty simple and probably a wide range of lubicating oils would do.

I thought the existing stuff smelt 'hypoid'. Any chance of a grade?

The manual says it's "automotive gearbox oil (SAE Grade EP80). If you want the pdf of the manual PM me and I'll send it on.
