Ohdrat

Well.....

We headed out to Isle Ornsay, Portree, Rona... then got pi$$ed off by the weather forecast each day (if you dont remember it was NE 4 to 5 occ 6) and came back down to Plocton then Arisaig then Canna then Loch Boisdale. Took a breather there and went in to Coll (don't start me about 15 quid for a mooring - even if Rob Wainright collected the dosh himself!) Tobe Crinan and then ome.

All in the most glorious sunshine. Wind was cold but then you cant have everything.

Wore my oilies three times.

Purfect.

Et vous?

Similar really
Went over to Drumbuidh when we parted then out to Coll as you know.
Went into Eigg which wasn't good so came straight back out and went to Rhum. Over to Inverie this would be around the Friday I guess when the weather picked up. Stayed there a couple of days and went walking then down to Arisaig and then back around Ardnamurchan and quietly peedled back.
The wind was a little chill for most of the time but isn't it grand when it stays dry?!
Sounds like there were quite a few boats made it to Vatersay - we'd to be back for a wedding so that scuppered that one - it'll still be there next year.
Wedding?

Wedding?

We never made it to Vatersay, although I'm told it was a great success. We didn't see anyone in Portree either.

I have some marvellous photo's of the west coast this year. The atmosphere seemed particularly clean with the N'ly wind.

It all takes place in the Colintaive Hotel a week tomorrow.

Oh well.....

Re: Vatersay

Read this post and was confused by the late mention of Vatersay.

The good ship Fairwinds did make it to Vatersay on her retreat from Orkney this year, and I have to say it is one of the finest anchorages we have ever spent time in - we will be going back often once we have go the butter-melting nonsense out of our systems.

Re: Vatersay

Lovely anchorage with magnificent sandy beaches. Always sobering though to see the memorial to 350 men, women and children who lost their lives in the wreck of the three masted "Annie Jane", out of 450 optimists who left Liverpool for the New World in 1853. The island has a chequered history.

Keep going back all the same.
