Ofcom........

As I said above, I updated my licence which was then revoked even though the updated version was printable just after I made minor changes. Be aware that this can happen!

My old licence was also revoked when I registered online. As I explained above, the new form would not accept the old DSC portable MMSI. After I contacted Ofcom, they have issued a new licence just for the portable. So I now have 2 licences, whereas before it was all on the single licence.
I had originally contacted them when I aquired the portable and they added the MMSI onto my licence. However they did not update their database and so it was still registered to the previous owner.
I have also been issued with a "T" number which I assume is the equivalent of a call sign.
Hopefully there will be no more complications for another 10 years.

I had a reply from Ofcom, I'd had forgot that I'd changed my email address, within the last 10 years from Virgin to BT, and I hadn't logged into the new Portal, so I didn't have a password. Passwords weren't migrated to the new Portal, I failed in two ways.
Ofcom, very helpfully change my email address, revalidated my account for 5 years, and sent a link to reset my password.
the change in email address means that I wouldn't have received any reminders, if they had been sent.

A T Number is portable between vessels, BUT it's only valid in the UK.

Timely!
Just checked mine, I'd have never thought of doing that, if I hadn't seen this post.
Update date: 14-3-22 ....... so I need to do something, but what?
I've tried googling Ofcom mmsi "update form" and similar search terms, and don't see anything obvious, I see application and amendment forms, but no update form.
Any got a link to the appropriate webpage?
Rather than spend ages trawling through their website, I would give them a ring for advice and save yourself the trouble - they won't bite you know.

Piece of advice...
Get an email address from Microsoft/Google/Apple or any other provider that is independent of your ISP.
That way when you move ISP you don't loose your email address..

My Epirb was registered with ITU and Ofcom but seems to have disappeared! So if I set it off who who would know? Or is it somewhere else? How can I add it again?

Yes your correct, added to ships licence and individually registered with mcga, the mcga is the most important one as it’s data base is the one that’s used by coastguard should it be activated

It depends if the Update date shown is the date that it was last updated or the date that the update is required by!
PS just looked at the DB and I couldn't see any update date in the future, so it suggests that the date printed is that when it was last updated.
