Why bother? Who cares?

Just use the kit, follow the protocols and all will be as it should be.

Authoritarians will yell at me, they will warn of dire legal consequences. Take no notice!

I must admit that it did cross my mind! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif But being new to the game, I dont want to tread on any toes, and it`s very early to play a joker. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have also had problems with the Ofcom web site and finally gave up with it when i got the following error message:

"This operation cannot be completed. This operation is associated with an interactive workflow, which has already run to completion and can no longer be resumed from this operation. If the purpose of this operation is simply to take you to a view, you should be able to reach the same view by using the forward/back button on your browser or the siebel history panel. Otherwise you need to restart the interactive flow from the begining. For example, if this operation is a step of user-driven tasks, you need to restart from the first taskin the series."

error message:

[/ QUOTE ] Oh I have had several. None means anything to me and i have usually started from the beginning again. If you take too long filling in the application form it "times out" as well so if you have to go away and look something up you have to save the details up to the point you have reached. then pick it up from the list of applications when you get back.

No idea what the Siebel history panel is.

ofcom is very easy to use, i got a life time license for two boats and all the kit on them for free. just register wait 3 days for the post for your login info, login, and fill in the form online and then all you have to do is print out your license, you get a call sign and a mmsi number as well. easy.

[/ QUOTE ] I did yet mine without too much trouble back in December BUT too many people have had too many problems for the site to be called easy to use. There are quite a few folk who are going to disagree with your statement

If you got your user ID in three days then great improvements have been made in that department. I waited much longer than the 1 week I expected to and earlier this year some people have waited for as long as two weeks.

then all you have to do is print out your license

[/ QUOTE ] Well it did work like that for me but I use IE6 Ofcom have had to publish a couple pages of intructions on altering the security settings for IE7 users.

So if you really do find it easy please tell us how to change a password. We click on "change password" on the "Your details page" and get a blank page headed "CHANGE PASSWORD" What do you do next?

You don't work for Siebel e Sales by any chance do you.
