I have a couple of new hosetails that I need to seal into the top of my diesel tank and was about to buy some fancy thread sealant when I came across a thread on here that recommended using CT1 to seal pipe threads. The CT1 website says it's recommended for diesel. My question is, I have a tube of OB1 and was wondering if that will work for diesel pipe fittings as well. Anybody used it?

I guess it will work and you'll never need, nor be able, to undo it.

I use "tru blu" from Toolstation. 3.50 and probably enough for a lifetime.

I used a large dollup od OB1 on a bit of wood to stop a small (dripping) leak in the bottom of our fuel tank. I can report that it worked very well, grabbed immediately without cleaning the diesel from the area. It lasted a few months until I removed the tank for replacement.

I plan to test the strength of the joint when I have time. I'm expecting it to be difficult to remove, we'll see.

I wouldn't want to use it in something that I might want to disassemble later.
