I didn't say I was going to take the boat out for a trip (you're making an
assumption), just that I couldn't get to the boat this weekend. The thread was
about another member of this board visiting Gosport and meeting up with them.
There are many reasons behind my decision to buy a boat, of which a couple are
to meet new people and to have a place to go where I can relax and get away
from the normal stresses of my work (a place to chill). There is more to owning
a boat (cleaning/maintenance/socialising) than just sailing.
Besides, the boat is out of commission due a technical problem highlighted during
transportation so I can't use her until the repairs are complete.
I'm no expert, but then again I not a complete idiot either (somewhere in between).
