This one was in Ullswater and, believe it or not, a Mountain Rescue Team was tasked.

RESCUE teams were called out to a Lake District water after a sailing yacht had run aground following a spell of dry weather.

Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team were called out to Ullswater on at 7pm on March, 12 to assist a sailing yacht that had run aground on the lake.

In a statement on social media, Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team said: "Cumbria Police alerted the Team to assist with a sailing yacht which had run aground on Ullswater on the west side of the lake. Belfast Coastguard had received the call for help in the first instance and requested the teams Rescue Rib to attend."

If you want more info - and I don't see much reason to - then Cumbria News and Star has more.

There are no lifeboats on the lakes - if you get in difficulty other services more used to dealing with floods are who comes to your aid (same in Scotland except Loch Ness and Loch Lomond) - so that is either the fire service or one of the mountain/lowland search and rescue teams.

I think if I ran aground in Ullswater, I'd be too embarassed to cry for help from Belfast Coastguard.
I'd likely wait for the tide to come in....
