Hi,

New member and also new to the yachting world.

I'm interested in purchasing a yacht so I'm trying to learn all I can.

Something caught my eye that I'm curious about. While browsing through the ads of the various yachting companies I noticed sereral photos that stated "Not for sale to U.S. Residents."

Can someone explain why?

Thanks and I look forward to learning from you all.

Welcome.

Yes saw that too. I was only browsing - honest!!! It must have been something to do with tax - the boat is already under an American flag ???

Try phoning the brokers with an American drawl and see if it makes a difference?

Possibly contractual obligation not to supply from the UK or wherever because of agency arrangements over there or, less likely with a boat, a failure on the part of the product to meet US standards requirements in some small detail.
