Nominations Required - Troll of the Year

No. This is a troll

Slightly surprised that there are no nominations as yet. Slightly pleased also since IMO the best way to deal with trolls is to "deny them the oxygen of publicity." Trolling must be a fairly pointless exercise (even to a troll) if no-one takes the bait.

Of course, I'm talking about real trolls here and not the regular light-hearted ones which give so many posters so many hours of relatively harmless amusement! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ceremony to be held in theTigh an Truish and fronted by Rene Tremblere . . .

[/ QUOTE ] with the support of EU commissioner for fishing and trolling affairs, Hans Niesand-Boumpse-d'Aisie.

Well I contacted Monsieur Tremblaire last night and he indicates his pleasure at being invited. Not being a flyer he intends to sail northwards in his beautiful barque the Surcouf and asks when the ceremony might take place as he was hoping to spend Christmas between the legs of an attractive young thing who has fallen for his Gallic charm.
He seems to be speaking in code as well - asking if the bushes are still red in Puilldobhran? Must date back to his involvement with the enigma code.

I do believe the red bushes are even redder - blushing at the memory of the great Rene Tremblaire in Puilldobhran.
Oh what's a poor ships crew to do with a lasting image like that etched on their memory (sadly not stored in the digital memory of their camera for all to share)?

Successfull Trolling

Nice pic, my prejudices exactly. But what are Troll qualities?

IMHO, a really successful YBW Troll should have certain qualities, like not knowing anything about boats and getting away with it, and an unerring ability to get Forumites squabbling and flaming each other.

So I'd look for someone who
<ul type="square"> never quotes from their sailing experiences
never describes or refers to their boat
no pics
never sailed with another 'Butter
no-one knows him/her
takes a boaty name after a model that doesn't exist
consistently nasty
all sailing "advice" (for street cred) comes from books, or most likely the internet. [/list]

Anyone spring to mind?

Noo my wee hazardous one - no need tae tak on so - I'm mindful o' yer sensibilities and we'll dae oor best tae keep oor troosis oan next time, - unless of course ye preferred that they fell?
