two options for the exhaust, first is to change the waterlock for a better type, i assume you have an in line lp40 which is a bumpy external contours.
second is to fit a muffler in the line as well.

have a look at www.halyard.co.uk, they make a much better design of silencer which cuts the noise down to around 40% less. This is purley down to the design and materials they use.
I dont work for them, just have used their products on so many occasions and very happy.

I actaully have a water lock and then a water separator which splits the water and exhaust gas and puts them out in two places, this makes the exhause output nice and quiet .

Hi Wiggy!

I'd go for the Vetus waterlock and then their muffler. Both reasonably priced and extremely effective. We reckoned the above combination cut the exhaust noise by at least 2/3 when we installed them on our Fulmar.

Hope this helps!

Just to confuse you, it's entirely possible to have noisy exhuast hose. I changed the hose recently on my perfectly acceptable exhaust, only to find that the new stuff had a horrendous echo, reverted to the old but knackered hose and all was well. Good luck.
